Disclaimer/Terms of Use:
BwH information is intended for planning purposes only. The data presented here represent the best available information provided through the Beginning with Habitat (BwH) coalition partners and should not be considered a comprehensive inventory of plant and animal occurrences and landscape conditions. Habitat features illustrated are based on limited field surveys, aerial photo interpretation, and computer modeling. Many areas have not been completely surveyed, so it is possible that features may be present that are not mapped. Some of the habitats and features displayed are regulated by the State of Maine through the Maine Endangered Species Act (Essential Habitats and threatened and endangered species occurrences) and Natural Resources Protection Act (Significant Wildlife Habitat). If activities are proposed that may affect at risk species, habitats, or natural communities depicted, consultations with regulating agency, MDIF&W Regional Biologists
or MNAP Ecologists
should occur. Contact BwH
with questions regarding BwH, the map viewer or the information provided. Beginning with Habitat does not provide data for unorganized townships at this time.
