As one of the first steps when setting up security
for the IBM® Cognos® environment, modify the initial membership
of the System Administrators role and other predefined roles.
If
the group Everyone is a member of a predefined
role, remove the group from the role membership.
Procedure
- In IBM Cognos Connection, click .
- On the Security tab, click Users,
Groups, and Roles.
- Click the Cognos namespace.
- For the role that you want to modify, in the Actions column,
click the set properties button.
- On the Members tab, modify the role
membership:
- Ensure that one or more users defined in your authentication provider
are members.
- Remove the group Everyone if this group
is a member of the role.
- Click OK.
- On the Permissions tab, set access
permissions for this role to prevent unauthorized users from creating,
updating, or deleting the content, and then click OK.
- For each role that you want to modify, repeat steps 3 to
6.
