Maine CDC Registration Platform for Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) |
Welcome to the Maine CDC Registration Platform for Electronic Case Reporting (eCR)
Electronic Case Reporting (eCR) automates public health case reporting by automatically generating and transmitting case reports from Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to public health agencies for review and action. Electronic initial case reports (eICR) are a complement to electronic lab reports (ELR) and does not replace the requirements for laboratories to continue sending ELRs.
As of January 1, 2019, Maine CDC declared readiness to meet the CMS Promoting Interoperability Program (PIP) requirements for electronic case reporting (eCR).
To start the implementation process, your facility will need to reach out to federal CDC at ecr@cdc.gov to work with them, and the APHL Integrated Messaging Service (AIMS) team, to discuss your facility’s electronic health record (EHR) capabilities and start data submissions.
Healthcare organizations are required to continue sending case reports via your current method of reporting until explicitly notified by Maine CDC that the organization has been approved to send electronic initial case reports in lieu of a paper report.
NOTE: Healthcare organizations with multiple locations may register one or more locations using the National Provider Identifier (NPI) for the organization.
